About Orthomap

Welcome to Orthomap
The Arabidopsis, rice, and poplar predicted protein sequences representing annotated gene models were downloaded. All-versus-all reciprocal BLASTP was used to identify putative orthologs using the “mutual-best-blast-hit” criteria (Tatusov et al., 1997). This analysis identified 13,105, 11,004, and 11,473 putative Arabidopsis-poplar and Arabidopsis-rice, and poplar-rice ortholog pairs, respectively.

ORTHOMAP provides predicted orthologs, homologs, or simple BLASTP matches for Arabidopsis, rice and poplar – allowing a user to obtain this information for a gene or group of genes of interest without having to browse different websites or conduct sequence comparisons.

Project Support - Orthomap and the Diurnal Plant Gene Expression Project are supported generously by a Plant Genome Research Program (PGRP) grant from the National Science Foundation (DBI-0605240). The project uses facilities and resources provided by the Department of Botany and Plant Pathology, the Center for Genome Research and Biocomputing, Oregon State University.
